What is AC/DC leakage current?
AC and DC leakage current refers to the phenomenon that current leaks to the ground or other conductive parts through insulating materials or undesired paths in electrical equipment or systems due to incomplete insulation or other reasons. According to the nature of the current, leakage current can be divided into AC leakage current and DC leakage current:
 
AC leakage current: AC leakage current refers to the phenomenon that current leaks through undesired paths due to insulation damage, equipment failure or design defects in AC systems. This current changes periodically under the action of AC voltage.
 
DC leakage current: DC leakage current refers to the phenomenon that current leaks through undesired paths due to insulation damage, equipment failure or design defects in DC systems. This current remains constant under the action of DC voltage.
 
The existence of leakage current may cause problems such as reduced equipment performance, overheating, and electric shock hazards, so appropriate measures need to be taken for detection and control.
