Future research and development direction of electronic transformers

1. Passive sensing: Due to the technical advantages of passive sensing, independent ECT sensing components will tend to be passive, including active sensors that will get rid of dependence on external sources, achieve self-power supply, and move towards quasi-passiveness. As a result, the average life cycle of electronic transformers will reach more than 10 years. Optical sensors have entered practical use by improving their measurement performance, simplifying system structure, and reducing costs.
2. Structural combination: Taking advantage of the advantages of electronic micro-power and miniaturization, transformers are more often combined in components in transformers, fully enclosed combination electrical appliances, isolation switches and other combination electrical appliances, reducing floor space and costs. Functional reuse can also promote the miniaturization and intelligence of primary electrical appliances. While various solutions play their respective advantages, they will also be combined with each other to complement each other. In addition to various independent and enclosed current-voltage combination transformers, LPCT/ROG-CT and optical combination current transformers are expected to appear in the next few years.
3. Functional reuse: Make full use of the advantages of data sharing, single-point testing, and multi-point sharing. The transformer also provides different types of digital interfaces such as Goose, RS485, and MU for sharing by various measurement and control equipment, reducing the repeated installation of transformers at multiple points and making the equipment configuration more compact.
4. Component standardization: The transformer components are standardized to make them universal and interchangeable. They can be installed as standard accessories in various primary equipment. Transformers from different manufacturers can be replaced and interchanged.
The emergence of electronic transformers can undoubtedly solve various current problems. Of course, the times are advancing, and transformers will not stop there. The transformer industry will also strive towards higher goals.
